Salome, Certified Yoga Teacher
My name is Salome. I am an Ace-certified personal trainer, a Basi certified pilates instructor, an Aerial yoga teacher, and a RYT 200, and 500 yoga teacher. I have done my 500 hour teacher training at Prana yoga center in La Jolla. My yoga journey started in 2010. My style is mostly power and Vinyasa flow. I would like to create a fun and playful space for my students to be challenged.
I hope you leave my class feeling stronger and ready to deal with the stress of daily life.

Hi, I'm Merrita! I'm a certified yoga sculpt teacher and am stoked to be teaching here. I moved to San Diego a little over a year from LA and absolutely love everything San Diego has to offer, including yoga (not that LA doesn't have its fair share of yoga studios). I've practiced yoga for about 10 years now but never pulled the trigger to actually get certified until I moved here. Getting certified was something that changed my life forever - it boosted my confidence in more ways than I can explain and gives me so much joy to have a passion that I can actually pursue outside of my 9-5 job. Being able to teach has always been a goal of mine and I am so happy to be teaching you all here at Root + Flow. My sculpt classes are high energy, opposite of what you're used to in a relaxing yoga studio. I love to pump my students up and will be expecting to see equally as high of energy from all of you!

Hi! My name is Jessica and I am very excited to be a part of Root and Flow Yoga. My yoga journey began 10 years ago when I had two small children and needed someplace to go besides the aisles at Target. Little did I know, this was the beginning of something much bigger for me. Wanting to learn more I signed up for a 200 hour Teacher Training at Sorrento Valley Yoga. I went on to complete my 500 hour Training at Prana Yoga in La Jolla and have done numerous workshops in Prenatal, Arm Balances and Sequencing. You will find my classes are both playful and classic and include Sun Salutations, Arm Balances, Inversions and Breathing Exercises. I strive to create a comfortable space for students of all levels and I love teaching Vinyasa flow with an emphasis on connecting mind, body and spirit through breath and movement. I look forward to meeting you on the mat at Root and Flow Yoga!

Hi, my name is Naoko. I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and moved the U.S 10 years ago. When I moved to the States, I found it exciting to be in a new country but very difficult to adjust to a different culture. When I decided to take yoga teacher training, it changed my life. I finally felt like part of a tight knit community. When I started practicing
Ashtanga yoga, I was stepping into the unknown. I started to experience a different world, with new opportunities. As I began learning the Ashtanga primary series, I did not know how to breathe correctly, or even where to start. Eventually, practicing everyday began to show me a reflection of my life. One day I would find stillness, but another day my mind would race between thoughts. Yoga teaches me how to be patient, how to forgive others, how to love unconditionally, and most importantly, how to love myself. I am dedicated to my practice and I would love to teach and share with people no matter what level they are, as long as they are excited about yoga and dedicated to consistent practice.

Hi Yogis! I recently moved to San Diego from the New York Metro Area and am thrilled to be a part of the Root Flow Yoga Community! Before heading west, I earned my Yoga Alliance 200hr RYT certification in Hoboken, NJ and taught Vinyasa, Restorative, and Meditation in Hoboken and Jersey City, NJ. I have led various workshops in northern New Jersey and New York City including my high energy “Pride Flow” class and my signature, “Broadway Vinyasa”, where students are encouraged to sing along to their favorite broadway tunes during an invigorating asana practice. Students coming to my Vinyasa classes should expect a full body flow inspired by the seven chakras. We will strengthen, lengthen, and align our bodies, moving to energizing music and leave the studio feeling invigorated and ready to take on the day!

Hi, I’m Thu! I’m so excited to be a part of Root + Flow Yoga and am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each and every one of you (if I haven’t already)! I’m very bad at writing bios but here goes - I found yoga over a decade ago, came in barely able to touch my toes and had no idea what to expect. After a few classes I was hooked and started going to class 4-5 times a week. Fast forward a few years, I decided to take the teacher training at yoga80 with the sole intention to deepen my practice and with no plans to teach - but alas here we are! I found out that I love teaching just as much as I love practicing. I love helping students and hearing them say how less stressed they feel after class, or how their tight shoulders no longer feel so tight. When I’m not doing yoga, I’m most likely at work researching drugs to save lives (at least that’s what I tell myself!) or at home drowning in laundry or stepping on legos that my two little girls love to leave out. If this happens to you, wine helps with the pain. I’m excited to share my journey with you and hope to see you in class!

Hi I'm Keely. I've been practicing for 15 years and teaching for 7 years. I studied ballet from 4 years old until I was 25 years old. What I love most about Vinyasa Flow is how much it feels like dancing to me. You will find my classes focused on the fundamentals of yoga, but also offering advanced poses for those who choose to challenge themselves. I bring an energetic, positive energy to my classes. We will move together and have a lot of fun!

I'm Antonette Hrycyk and I am honored and excited to be a part of the Root + Flow community. I was first drawn to yoga as a way to manage my anxiety, but fell in love with the practice and how it transformed my life both physical and emotionally. I believe in created shared and welcoming spaces for students to grow and connect with their bodies and minds in their own unique ways. I received my 200 hour RYT under the guidance of Gabrielle Blachley and strive to create classes that allow students to embrace a flow state for vinyasa or a state of relaxation in restorative yoga. Outside of teaching yoga, I am a middle school history and English teacher with a love for a good book, coffee, podcasts, and trail running.
